Only it doesn't quite work that way. As an artist who has not really cared for trends since the early 1990s, I am writing for intrinsic reasons. If I do an edit, I am trying to figure out something central in life itself. The word count is expanding, not contracting––counter to all sensible, market-savvy admonitions.
The title is still difficult for many Americans to pronounce, yet it is unmistakably Japanese. Ari Park? I think of a classmate I had in junior high school who didn't pay back the ten bucks I lent him (I learned subsequently not to care about paying back). Tokyo Blues? Taken. Anything else gimmicky in the pipeline?
I am at ease with that voice in my head, the most difficult taskmaster. And I do attract a growing coterie of regular readers, who see something in my prose they do not find elsewhere.
You can now find my site on Google by typing in EnduranceWriter––a surprisingly Herculean feat.
As to the question at hand––Arisugawa Park is coming, forsooth.
