SOYLENT LOG 7.1 (aka 1.1 redux)

I wish I could say that I am on my 7th day of a Soylent-based diet but I am still officially on Day One. That said, I have made significant progress in transitioning past an oral fixation for real food and integrating more and more of this powdered "food substitute" into my life.

Having purchased two boxes (14 pouches) from Henry (who has subsisted off the paste-like gruel for 18 months) prior to his departure to Atlanta, I am positioned to make a sporting effort at the Soylent Challenge, should I commit. Unfortunately, getting past a psychological need for solid food and the self-soothing pleasures of eating (as opposed to slurping) has been a major impediment. Should I try and affix my mind on the early days of breast food nourishment? Do my memories go this far?

For those who measure such things, I blended two small bananas, two mini pears, and two unripe nectarines into today's Soylent concoction. I perfected this recipe yesterday, as I found it added significantly to the overall taste and gusto with which Soylent is consumed.

For the record: is 6:00 pm and I have still not eaten anything more solid than a pear core all day. Not hungry. Not dreaming of pizza and burgers. Not even that enthused by the idea of cooking lentil-tomatillo soup.
